  • Winners to be announced at a ceremony curated to raise consciousness
  • A ‘new wave’ of sustainability to be ushered in to mark 15 years of the UK’s leading sustainability awards

LONDON, 10 June – The UK’s leading sustainability and ethical awards body – the P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards, in association with OMMM – has announced its shortlist of green heroes and changemakers of 2025.

Selected by an all-female panel of judges, the shortlist for 2025’s P.E.A. Awards, which is now in its 15th year, includes environmental champions across 14 categories, ranging from Youth and Indigenous Communities to Technology, Travel and Culture.

A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an individual whose considerable contributions and passion for change have led to exemplary long-term success in the field of sustainability, and a Best of the Year Award will go to the judges’ top-scoring entrant or nomination.

What’s new for 2025

This year’s winners will be announced at a sensational awards ceremony, taking place 26 June 2025, 18.30-00.30, at London’s Ladbroke Hall. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Grammy-nominated singer Antonique Smith, an American film, TV and Broadway actress and official ambassador for Earth Day 2025.

To mark the P.E.A. Awards’ 15th anniversary, a very special night has been been curated in association with OMMM, an organisation that exists solely to raise consciousness and awareness through events.

The goal is to demonstrate the unity of sustainability and spirituality, and to remind guests that we are all one.

On the night

Those attending this year’s P.E.A.s Awards ceremony will be given an opportunity to step out of their everyday lives and experience an evening of enrichment and ritualistic journey.

Upon arrival guests will be blessed by the Brahma Kumaris before enjoying a plant-based elixir, created by the awards’ resident alchemist, designed to uplift and open hearts.

Guests will then be bathed in sacred sounds from Cosmic Rhapsody and Reachel Singh before coming together to break bread with award-winning Italian cuisine and vegan wines.

The Museum of Consciousness will create a visual backdrop and soundscape to help raise the vibration of the room as the awards are announced, and will go on to provide a DJ set to ensure celebrations continue into the night.

Additional music will be provided by host Antonique Smith and Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Tom Ball.

The evening will take place in Ladbroke Hall, a stunning and creative space famed for showcasing thought leaders who are shaping today’s cultural conversations.

The awards will be lived stream to millions by We Don’t Have Time, the world’s largest environmental platform for change.

Quotes

‘I believe it really is time to switch things up; I don’t know how others feel but for me I’m so bored of this raging narrative we are calling a climate crisis! Is nature calling this a crisis or is she in fact giving humanity an opportunity to wake up? My heart tells me its the latter.

‘With this in mind and heart, this year’s P.E.A.s have been designed to empower and uplift our green superheroes. The artistic and cultural venue chosen, the sumptuous Italian cuisine, the outstanding eclectic music and visuals have all been chosen to stimulate and awaken consciousness in the pioneers attending this year’s awards. For me this is the start of the new wave – one we can all surf together if we can remember that everything is exactly as its meant to be if humans are to evolve – and that the time for evolution is now!’

P.E.A. Awards founder Jarvis Smith

‘At OMMM, we believe true sustainability begins with inner harmony — when we remember our connection to nature, to each other and to something greater than ourselves. It’s an honour to partner with the P.E.A. Awards on its 15th anniversary, to celebrate those who are courageously leading the way toward a more conscious and regenerative world. Together, we’re amplifying the voices and actions that are restoring balance on our planet.’

Michelle Narciso, co-founder of P.E.A. Awards sponsor OMMM.

About the shortlist

CLIMATE PIONEER

Anila Noor, New Women Connectors
Displaced communities are often excluded from climate justice conversations, yet they are among the most affected by environmental crises. This initiative is revolutionising climate justice by shifting power to those most impacted, with capacity-building, leadership training and policy engagement that can be replicated across different regions. It challenges traditional aid structures and pushes for equity, accountability and leadership from the ground up, ensuring that refugee and displaced women shape global climate policies.

City of London Corporation Climate Action Strategy team
As expectations to achieve net zero grow – and budgets – tighten – this team is working collaboratively to deliver high-impact, system-level interventions – from net zero design standards and guidance for retrofit-led planning to green lease provisions and decarbonisation support – in a way that’s rare for among local authorities. The structure provides a practical blueprint that’s scalable, replicable and built to deliver material impact.

Jawad Khursheed, HVS (Hydrogen Vehicle Systems) CEO
HGVs represent 1.5% of vehicles, but contribute 19% of transport emissions. The mission at HVS is to build a market-leading hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle with consistent payloads, quick refuelling and a long range. Its current prototype has a range of of 700km on a 10-15min refill, offering parity with existing diesel vehicles.

CULTURE
Sponsored by Ladbroke Hall

Cosmic Rhapsody team
Cosmic Rhapsody, a 42-minute orchestral work that premiered with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at The Barbican in May, is not just art – it’s advocacy,  inspiring awe and action in equal measure. It challenges the ‘business as usual’ narrative by introducing climate storytelling through symphonic music, with the potential to reach hearts where perhaps facts alone cannot.

Dryden Goodwin & Lucy Wood, Invisible Dust
Breathe is a multi-site public artwork by artist Dryden Goodwin, produced by art-science organisation Invisible Dust, to raise public awareness and explore pressing policy issues around air pollution. The work, which features clean air activists ‘fighting for breath’ (both literally and figuratively), has taken over hundreds of bridges, buildings and billboards next to traffic-choked streets, and been viewed by over 14 million people to date.

Salma Mehar, Nutrition Ed
Nutrition Ed simultaneously offers children practical resources and revolutionises nutrition education in underserved communities. Its digital platform, sustainable products, training and educational resources address the social determinants of health, empowering communities and promoting sustainable materials to those who are excluded from the discussions and helping to change individual habits while also strengthening community resilience.

ENERGY
Sponsored by EDEN

GoPlugable (Power Rangers Ltd) team
This female-led company is like the Airbnb for EV chargers, letting people share their private chargers with EV drivers who need a boost. The idea is simple but powerful: use what we already have to make life easier and greener for everyone. As well as helping to charge electric cars, this is about charging up a community-driven movement towards cleaner, connected cities.

Jawad Khursheed, HVS (Hydrogen Vehicle Systems) CEO
(See Climate Pioneer entry)

Sponsored by OMMM

Lucy Tammam, Tammam
Tammam’s One Dress: PLANET is a couture gown, created with Stop Ecocide International, adorned with hundreds of hand-sewn embroideries of endangered flora, each one purchased by a single consumer. Anyone who purchased an embroidery automatically became a part-owner of this piece of collaborative couture, challenging the way we buy fashion. Their name appears on a register, along with the name of the embroiderer and information about the plant species that had been embroidered.

Harry Conway, STEAMhouse Innovation Lab
This collaboration between the Birmingham County Football Association (BCFA) and STEAMhouse addresses a global issue – plastic waste – through a universal lens of sport. It’s using innovations in materials, behaviours and storytelling to tackling single-use plastic waste in grassroots football in a way that can also be replicated at elite levels and across the broader sports sector.

Nuclear Decommissioning Authority group team
The NDA group blueprints how sustainable development opportunities for the future can be created by cleaning up past legacies. The group is responsible for safely decommissioning the earliest nuclear sites in the UK; operating in regions where nuclear facilities have been major employers for decades, it recognises the socio-economic impact of its work and has a profound commitment to the communities it serves.

HEALTH & WELLBEING

Ishga Skincare team
These organic, results-driven skincare products harness the potent properties of Hebridean seaweed, a rapidly renewable resource that grows abundantly without soil, freshwater or fertilisers. The collection is made on Ishga’s island home, by local people, using  harvesting methods certified by the Biodynamic Association. The range integrates traditional Scottish heritage with modern skincare science, delivering tangible results while telling a story of the Hebrides’ natural bounty and Ishga’s dedication to preserving it.

Kids Operating Room team
When surgeons in sub-Saharan Africa reported that frequent power outages were endangering children’s lives during surgeries, KidsOR developed the Solar Surgery System, a groundbreaking solution that ensures uninterrupted power, transforming paediatric healthcare while championing sustainability. Through expert interviews, groundbreaking insights and a commitment to providing reliable health information, UK Health Radio has transformed lives and continues to set the standard for accessible, life-changing health media.

INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

Amazon for Life
Amazon for Life aims to halt deforestation by demonstrating to Bolivia – and the world – that protecting the Amazon is not only a moral and ecological obligation but also the most economically rewarding path, and that real change can happen when the private sector, communities and governments come together. It plans to plant over 1 million productive trees on more than 10,000 hectares of indigenous and private land by 2026. The produce will generate income for all stakeholders while preserving the forest.

Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance
This alliance of 30 Indigenous nations in Ecuador and Peru has a shared vision to permanently protect 86 million acres of bio-culturally diverse tropical rainforests – an area larger than Italy – in the headwaters of the mighty Amazon River. Formed in 2017, the Alliance is seeking to protect rainforest territories, united by the common understanding that we all belong to an interconnected web of rivers and forests, and that we are all kin. The message is that when we unite, we can better protect our lands and our rights.

The Earth Elders
This US-based conservation charity works with Indigenous peoples to restore nature and regenerate degraded ecosystems. Its goal is to elevate the role of ancestral wisdom and traditional ecological knowledge to safeguard Earth’s biodiversity and bio-culture. It is also helping to educate and empower the next generation of leaders, guardians and custodians.

INNOVATOR
Sponsored by Octopus Energy

Circular Computing team
70% of laptops are eligible for recycling, yet only 20% find their way into recycling programmes. Circular Computing has developed the Circular Remanufacturing Process, which surpasses superficial refurbishment. By meticulously disassembling, testing and replacing laptop components, it ensures performance and reliability while reducing e-waste. It has established the world’s first facility dedicated to laptop remanufacturing and received the first-ever BSI Kitemark for Remanufactured Laptops.

Lucy Tammam, Tammam
(See Evolution of Sustainability entry)

Natasha George, LettUs Grow
In a world first for the greenhouse industry, LettUs Grow has developed the Aeroponic Rolling Bench, an innovative system that grows plants without soil. Instead, plant roots are suspended in air, taking pressure off the environment by enabling us to grow more food using fewer resources and without industrially farming our land. Designed to retrofit into standard greenhouse facilities, these benches can increase growth rates by up to 20% using less water and fertiliser, and without using any pesticides.

Pocket Power team
10 million adults and 4 million children were living in poverty in the UK in 2024, and the average low-income family pays £444 extra a year for things like energy, insurance and credit. Co-designed with those on low incomes to address the three barriers they face, Pocket Power’s phone service helps people save money on their household bills and connects them to the £23bn of unclaimed benefits and discounts each year. It also provides information, coaching and skills to help people take back their financial power.

NATURE

Daniella Levene, Friends of the Welsh Harp
As the founder of Friends of the Welsh Harp, Daniella has championed conservation in one of Southern England’s most important wildlife habitats, overcoming initial opposition to establish a volunteer-led movement dedicated to protecting this Site of Special Scientific Interest. Through community engagement, regular clean-ups and educational outreach, Friends of the Welsh Harp has become a model for citizen-led environmental stewardship.

Lucy Grabe-Watson, Ancient Woodlands UK
This youth-led organisation helps to protect Britain’s ancient woodlands through advocacy and education, providing a platform for young individuals (16-35) who are passionate about safeguarding these vital ecosystems. Collaborations over the last year include the Woodland Trust, RSPB, Environmental Justice Clinic and Lawyers for Nature. Currently, it is working on developing a bill that aims to secure full legal protection for ancient woodlands and exploring a rights of nature approach which, if adopted, could transform our relationship with nature in the UK.

Kent Wildlife Trust Wilder Blean team
Blean woods is one of the country’s largest areas of ancient woodland, yet much of the area has been commercially logged. Heavy machinery has been used to create space for nature, though this is timely, costly and has an environmental impact. Inspired by the Dutch bison re-wilding projects that made fantastic gains for wildlife, three bison were released into Blean woods in a bid to use animals to restore ecological function. By 2024 the heard had grown to six. These are the first wild bison to roam freely in Britain in thousands of years.
